On my second day there, I went on a three-hour walking tour of the city. Afterwards I was starving! The tour guide was vegan and recommended a suppenkuche in the Viktualienmarkt, a small farmers-type market near town hall. I booked it over to the small tent and after a brief scan of the mostly-vegetarian menu, I chose a tomato tofu curry soup to satisfy my hunger. I watched as the woman helping me scooped a large portion into a bowl, add a scoop of jasmine rice and a generous sprinkling of saffron. Amazing. My piping hot bowl of yum was just as delicious as it looked.
Can't wait to go back!
